This story is about a little mouse named Owen. He has developed a certain habit. Whether walking, eating, sleeping, or playing with other children, he must bring his beloved blanket along with him. Owen does not stick to his mother and father all day and yet, he cannot seem to leave his little blanket behind as he grows up and eventually goes to elementary school. Because Owen is really small and the blanket is really big, there is an exaggerated contrast between the two in this book.
Owen’s mother and father eventually felt that the situation with the blanket should be changed so that Owen will not be overly dependent on the blanket. However, they did not want to deprive Owen of his blanket either. What should they do? Finally, Mom and Dad discussed with Owen and decided to cut a piece of the blanket to make a handkerchief for him. In this way, Owen can still bring his "small blanket" around and also get along well with his classmates and adapt to school life.
